As part of its ongoing strategy to promote inclusion and embed its values across society, and in line with its continued commitment to supporting Jordanian athletes, Zain Jordan has renewed its sponsorship of its Paralympic champions for the 16th consecutive year.
This renewed support reflects Zain’s firm belief in investing in human potential, championing inspiring success stories, and empowering people with disabilities while strengthening their presence across various fields, particularly in sports, which highlight abilities and foster social inclusion. It also underscores Zain’s long-standing commitment to enabling athletes with disabilities to continue their sporting journeys and achieve further milestones that elevate Jordan’s name on regional and international stages.
Zain continues to support a distinguished group of Paralympic athletes who have achieved remarkable accomplishments locally, regionally, and globally. These include visually impaired runner Suhail Nashash, table tennis player Fatima Al Azzam, shot put champion Jameel Shibli, as well as weightlifting champions Moataz AlJunaidi, Tharwa Al Hajjaj, Omar Qarada, and Asma Shukri. The list also includes champion Abdelkarim A -Khattab, who has consistently secured world records, gold and silver medals, and outstanding achievements in international competitions.
Zain also implements a wide range of initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering people with disabilities. The company was among the first telecom operators in the region to introduce mobile service contracts in accessible formats, including sign language, voice translation, and text transcription, ensuring a more seamless and inclusive communication experience. In addition, Zain supports t “114” emergency calls application for smartphones, dedicated to the deaf community. This initiative is the result of a strategic partnership between Zain, the Higher Council for the Rights of people with Disabilities, and the Public Security Directorate, serving tens of thousands of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals across the Kingdom.
Furthermore, Zain launched the prepaid “Basma+” line tailored specifically for the deaf community, offering customized features such as video calls and internet bundles. This comes as part of the company’s continuous efforts to deliver more inclusive and accessible digital services for all.
